mediation: case study
If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.—Henry Miller
mark & michelle
MARK'S PRODUCTIVITY HAD hit bottom. The only thing saving him from job termination was a boss who remembered what Mark was like before his unexpected divorce from Jan.

The end of his marriage and custody of two teenagers left Mark helpless. His most pressing issue was the hostile relationship with his brilliant college daughter Michelle. She was threatening to drop her scholarship and move to South America.

CCSI mediators helped Mark and Michelle talk honestly about blame, failure, hurt and a family that had been crushed by Jan's abandonment.

Mark and Michelle crafted a written agreement that kept Michelle in school and provided counseling for both of them. They left the mediation with a map to the future including the promise to meet every Friday night for dinner or a movie. Last week Mark turned down tickets to baseball game because his commitment to Michelle was more important.

By providing Mark and Michelle with a safe space to ventilate and explore options, Mark's boss salvaged a good employee and a struggling family.

Employees bring their personal lives to the workplace. CCSI mediators can help your staff over life's road bumps and return them to productivity.
